With a background in fields that complement home inspection — including years in the high-end restaurant world — Sean knows the value of clear communication, calm confidence, and treating people like family.

Licensed in the state of North Carolina, Sean takes pride in simplifying complex topics so clients feel informed, not overwhelmed. No scare tactics, no jargon — just honest answers and clear explanations that anyone can understand. Whether it’s a cozy cabin or a custom build, Sean’s goal is simple: no surprises, no stress.

Clients often say he’s one of the easiest people to talk to — and that’s by design. “I usually think of a friend or family member at each house,” he says. “I treat every client like I’ve always known them.”

Outside of work, Sean spends his time with his fiancée, Nicala, and their two dogs, Gus and George. If they’re not out gardening, they’re relaxing and watching their chickens do “chicken things.”

Fun fact: Sean once packed two backpacks and moved to a mountain town in Italy — without speaking a word of Italian. He planned to stay six days. He stayed for a year and a half, cooking and creating memories he still talks about today.

KeShawn made the jump from the fast-paced restaurant world to home inspections in search of something more aligned with his long-term goals — including building a future in real estate. What he found was a career that’s just as dynamic, hands-on, and people-focused — but with a lot more natural light.

Licensed in the state of North Carolina, KeShawn brings curiosity, strong communication skills, and a grounded energy to every inspection. He doesn’t just check boxes — he digs deeper, guided by a genuine interest in making sure nothing is missed and every client feels confident. “I treat each inspection like a great friend is buying a house,” he says. “Because that’s how I see my clients — like friends.”

His favorite part of the job? The variety. No two homes are the same, and that constant change keeps him sharp, engaged, and on his toes.

Outside of work, KeShawn thrives in the outdoors — whether he’s exploring with his dog, experimenting in the garden, snapping photos, or just enjoying some good music. Oh, and yes — he’s been on TV a few times. (Ask him about it. He won’t bring it up first, but it’s a fun story.)

Justin Berger is the founder and owner of Home Inspection Collective, proudly serving Western North Carolina. With over 13 years in the industry, Justin was first recruited by another inspector — but quickly found his calling in helping clients understand their homes, not just inspect them.

Today, Justin leads a high-performing team known for delivering clear, non-alarmist reports and exceptional service. Home Inspection Collective is trusted by top-tier agents and luxury homeowners for its standout add-ons like in-house sewer scopes, mold testing, and septic evaluations — all backed by a commitment to doing what’s right every time.

A natural educator, Justin also teaches continuing education (CE) classes to real estate professionals, making complex topics accessible, engaging, and often a little entertaining. When he’s not mentoring his team or speaking to a room full of agents, you’ll find him surf fishing, smoking BBQ, or spending weekends on the lake with his family.

Sonya is a proud Asheville native and has been part of the Home Inspection Collective family since 2017. With a degree in Office Administration and a heart for service, she thrives in her role as Client Care Coordinator — where her mission is simple: make every client and agent feel informed, supported, and stress-free from start to finish.

Known for her clear communication and calm presence, Sonya is the first friendly voice most clients hear and the steady guide behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly. She also happens to be married to the best-looking home inspector in town (her words, but we won’t argue), and together they’re raising two amazing kids who keep life full and fun.

When she’s off the clock, you’ll find Sonya outdoors — hiking, camping, sneaking away for a last-minute beach trip, or relaxing on the family’s houseboat at Lake Fontana. Raised by a professional chef, she has a deep love for food and finds joy in both cooking at home and exploring new restaurants around town. She also enjoys reading, getting creative with art, catching a good movie, staying active, and spending meaningful one-on-one time with the people she loves.
